Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), announced the aquisition of Linode in February of 2022 for approximately $900 million USD. Akamai's market capitalization is $14.7 Billion USD.
Linode has datacenters in North America, Asia, Europe, Oceania & South America. With 28 open datacenters in all, Linode has a wide range of locations worldwide. Chances are they have a datacenter in your vicinity.
Akamai Linode offers a variety of Linux OS Distributions to choose from including Alma Linux, Alpine, Arch, CentOS, Kali, OpenSUSE, Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, Slackware & Ubuntu Linux.
Plans start at $5/month with a shared CPU, 1GB of RAM & 1 TB of transfer. Linode scales to 512GB RAM, 12 TB of Transfer & 64 CPUs for $5,530/month with a Premium CPU plan.

Linode features include: 99.99% Compute Uptime SLA ( Service Level Agreement ) ( The equivalent of 8.6 seconds / day downtime ) , 24/7/365 Email & Phone Support, Cloud Firewall, DNS management, Volume Storage options, backups, Node/Load Balancers, server & networking metric graphing. There is also a web based console if locked out. Linode offers a managed database clustering service for MySQL & PostgreSQL for large and complex databases.
FYI, Linode blocks port 25, an smtp port, as many cloud providers do. You can ask Linode if they will unblock this port but there is no guarantee they will. A strong argument for opening the port(s) is needed. My casual request was denied. The reason for blocking is spam. Spam is often delivered with smtp ports.
Phone support is well done by Linode. Randy was very helpful & knowledgeable with a key related issue I had. He honed in on the fix right away. Friendly too!
